1970 Chevy C10 – TJ H.

Finally!!

I bought this 1970 Chevrolet C10 from my neighbor for $1200.00. She was in running condition, but everyone who ever rode in it would make fun of me because of the rust and the fact that you could see the road when riding because of the rusted rocker panels. After driving “Betsey” to and from work and everywhere in between, I decided to do a full restoration. I first started by having the truck removed from the chassis and sandblasting. Afterwards, the chassis was powder coated.

Every nut, washer, screw, bolt was replaced. I had the gear switch over from a 410 to 373. Of course I had to have positive traction. I removed the original inline six and replaced it with Blueprint 383 Stroker. The only thing about this truck that I did not replace new is the transmission which I had rebuilt. Had to keep it three on the tree. Added Vintage Air, power steering, front and rear disc brakes, new suspension. 20X9’s custom wheels on the front and 20X10’s on the rear. Tires are Mickey Thompson. Replaced the vinyl bench seat with leather. New wiring harness, gauges, seat belts, carpet, everything inside. Original style radio in the dash. Highliner with Built-In Speakers, two 8″ powered subwoofers, kick panel set with speakers, and threshold plate with LED Bowtie. Wood bed over the steel bed.

Over the next seven years and a lot of patience, “Lily May” has finally arrived. “Lily May is the name of my deceased grandmother”. Thanks to LMC for your patience and expertise.[lmc_story_gallery]
