1979 Chevy Silverado 1500- Mark D.
Burned
Sorry, but my story is not a good one. I always wanted an old P/U truck.I looked for years but they are so hot the price is sky-high. I finally pulled the trigger on an eBay bid and won a 1979 c-10 Chevy Silverado for $3,800.The description said the truck was purchased as a diesel and after too much trouble had a GM dealer Oldsmobile 350 factory installed. The seller said that the truck was rock solid and that he personally would drive it anywhere. I called and asked about the rust and was assured that there was not any rust. When the truck got to my state of Connecticut from the state of Arkansas clearly I could see the rust before it came off the trailer. I started the truck and clearly I knew the manifold was shot. The horn did not work. The dashboard lights did not work. The windshield washer did not work. I drove the truck to my mechanic and it stopped running. I had a feeling that the gas gauge was broken as it read 1/2 a tank.I walked home and got a gas can and went back and the truck fired right up so it was sold with a broken gas gauge. Not one defect was listed in the eBay add. That is my truck story and that is how I found LMC and will, without doubt, be purchasing products here shortly. I love the how-to videos that Ken does for LMC and watch them all. That’s my sad Chevy truck story.[lmc_story_gallery]
