1979 Ford F150 – Jake L.
“Bud”
My name is Jake L. I live in Star, Idaho with my 2 trucks. A 1979 Ford F-150 Supercab, & a 1975 Ford F-250 Highboy.
“Bud” is my 1979 Ford F-150 Supercab Ranger 4×4. It sat behind my church about 2.5 years so I asked the janitor what the church was planning to do with it. He said they were throwing it away because the motor was blown up. I asked him how much he thought the owner would sell it to me for. He guessed that the owner might just give it to me. Sure enough, a few weeks later me and my dad left the church service with a free truck on our trailer. Our original plan was to put it on the back burner while we got my ’75 F-250 running and driving. We tried to start it like everybody does when they get an old car. We put a new battery in it, and some fuel in the carb and after a few cranks, it ran so smoothly that I knew it was going to push the ’75 to the back burner.
It still had the original medium copper paint (paint code D) and the original 400ci 2bbl engine. It also has the rare option for the dual rear seats that face each other. I plan to use it as a race car hauler for my dad’s 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle and his 2002 Ford Focus hornet class race car.
On the rear window there is a window paint mark that says 5-3 14:43. I guessed it was a dial in number for drag racing but I don’t know for sure. If anybody knows what it means email me at [email protected]. There is an image that shows the mark.[lmc_story_gallery]
