My First Truck

I’m from a small town in Louisiana and the first time I seen my 1987 Chevy C-10 Custom Deluxe was after church in the summer of 1989. He was just sitting there on the lot on the other side of the closed gate, at a small local dealership. I had to work the next 2 weeks and could only see my truck on Sunday after church. On the 3rd Sunday, I told my Dad that I found my truck and I wanted him to see it, so we drove back up that evening and we stood outside the fence where my truck was and talked.

My Dad and I talked, strategized and compromised and finally came up with a solution. We came up the next day (Monday) and just so happen my Dad knew the owner of the dealership but made me feel like I was doing it all on my own. He co-signed for me and the rest is history that has been part of my life for the past 30 years. My truck has been with me through floods, deployments, marriage, careers, retirements, the Good and the Bad.[lmc_story_gallery]
