1949 Ford F1 – Doug S.
The Story of Storrs
My son worked for a guy while he was in high school, that had a 1949 F1 sitting out in a field. I got to know the guy and the day I heard that his ranch was for sale I hustled over and asked if I could buy the truck! I got it for $400 and rolled it onto a trailer. An hour after I got it home I had the 226 flat head running, but I knew I wouldn’t be happy with the stock running gear. I completely disassembled the truck and have done a frame off restoration / modification of the truck. The previous owner has passed away and I asked the family if I could name the truck after him. His name was Storrs. They were really excited to learn that that was what I wanted to do. I’ve installed a 302 SBF / C6 engine/trans. 2000 Explorer differential and a 1988 Jaguar XJS IFS. Most of the bodywork is done and I hope to have it back on the road this year![lmc_story_gallery]
