1972 Chevy C10 – Logan B.
Father Inspired
This is my 1972 C10. This project or desire for the project started when I was 14 years old. In total it was a 11 year build, I finished the truck in August of 2019, and have been driving it like often ever since!
The truck is 2 wheel drive, the wood in the bed is Mahogany for an engine it has a small block Chevy 355 (currently getting some added power), a Tremec 6 speed transmission, the rear end is a Gm 12 bolt that I went through and put a limited slip differential in, connecting the truck to the road is 4 Nitto G2 tires. The paint is a 1 of 1 color a good friend and I made. Almost every part on the truck is from LMC. This was a complete frame up restoration down to the nuts and bolts.
How this truck found its way into my heart was because of my Father. He had always want a 1972 pickup because that was the year he was born. I loved the way the trucks looked and with my Father always wanting one, I had to have one!
My starter truck was a 2 wheel drive, long bed fleet side. To make a long story short (no pun intended) I knew I wanted a hot rod so I cut the frame shortened the truck and put a stepside bed on it. For the most part this truck is era correct I just put a few modern touches on the suspension, drivetrain, and cab.
I started this truck when I was 14 and finished it when I was 25, I did every bit of the work myself except spray the paint. My favorite memories made from this project were all the times my Father and I got to hang out and throw around ideas for the truck. Without the inspiration from my Father ( and the parts so available from LMC) I never would have had the confidence or means to start and finish a project like this.[lmc_story_gallery]
