1992 Chevy S10 – Anthony O.
1992 Chevy S-10 Single Cab Resurrection
I bought a new 1992 S-10 in 1992 and kept it a number of years, then traded it for another vehicle. I always liked the body style and driveability of the little trucks and swore if I found the right truck (a single cab loaded with features) I would buy it. In 2015 while looking at a popular want ad I found that very truck. Chevy sold tons of extended cabs that were loaded but to find a single cab loaded with features was rare, most singles were more utilitarian than fancy. I bought this 1992 model for $700.00. It is a single cab, with the 4.3Z Throttle body with the 700R4 auto overdrive. It had all the features that were offered in that year model which included the Tahoe Convenience Group that featured two tone paint, body side moldings, chrome wheel well trim, chrome grille, chrome front and rear bumper, as well as all the interior features, power windows and locks, tilt steering, cruise control, cloth seat, carpet and map lights. I also found the dealer installed option which was the aluminium modular wheels. Great truck except ONE thing, it was in horrible shape mechanically and appearance wise. I knew it was going to take a lot of money and sweat equity to bring her back to life but I wanted to meet the challenge. Over the next several years I worked to get it back in shape also with the help of a vocational school that did some mechanical and the paint and body. I now have got the truck near to the way it was when it was bought thanks to the many parts LMC provided for this project. I don’t know the original owner but am prone to believe the features this truck came with it may have been ordered and if so it’s special and without LMC and the wide variety of OEM style parts they offer I don’t think I could have restored it to its factory beauty. Thanks again LMC and I know I will be buying more parts and can always depend on you guys to make it happen.[lmc_story_gallery]
