Shop Truck Lives On

I first saw this truck when I met the man that owned it in 1999. It was a “new” truck, as it was just done being fully restored. He owned a huge shop that was for personal use and he let myself and friends use to work on our projects and hangout. I always loved this truck and on occasion, I was able to drive it to run an errand for him. Time passed and lives went different directions and we weren’t hanging out at his shop as much. Three years ago I learned of his passing and this truck came up for sale through his estate and I bought it immediately. I learned he traded it a while back and had rebought it in 2015 and had the bed redone. That was as far as he got till his health deteriorated. So the truck sat in a little barn for years bc it is a 4spd and his knees wouldn’t let him work the clutch. It actually has a little dent in the driver’s door from where he stumbled and fell into it and that was pretty much the last time he drove it. The truck is a ‘73 C30 454 4spd transmission with 3:21 gears. As with anything that sits for years, it needed many little things that LMC was able to help me with. It took me a year to get it back to where it was. I put new wheels, simulators, brakes, lines, fuel lines, tanks, carburetor, steering wheel, hood hinges, hood, lights , shocks and swapped the gear from a 4:11 to 3:21 and added my shops decal. Many are glad to see the “ole shop truck” live on bc many remember the original owner driving it so much. He loved his big blocks and would restore them and drive them..[lmc_story_gallery]
