The building of “Big Ugly”

My son and I built this truck using LMC parts mostly. At the time we got the truck it was rusted and busted. Nothing good about it, but I had the vision of my oldest son and I having a project together. Father son bonding time you know. We had 8 years to get it done. The truck sat 6 of those 8 years with no interest shown to it at all. Finally my 14 1/2- 15 year old son decided it’s time to get it on the road. So the project began. He was excited for the tear down process, the installation of the 4″ Rough Country suspension lift, new parts (many new parts), things like that. The body and paint I limited his exposure due to many reasons. I am a body shop owner by trade, so that process was not hard. All new body panels, with a few modifications here and there to make the truck unique. Base coat clear coat, black. Nothing special, I know what a 16 year old kid will do with a truck like this. So it was built with that in mind. We went through it all, new just about everything. Upon completion of the project we named her Big Ugly, because it was never meant to he pretty, just a fun truck. But she is far from ugly.[lmc_story_gallery]
