1984 Chevy K10 – Scott L.
Dad’s 87 K10 4×4
My dad bought this truck new in the spring of 1987, it was the plow truck the local Chevy dealer used to clear their lot that winter. I can remember the price was $11500 with the plow and it had about 2000 miles on it. It had a lot of transmission issues early on going through 3 700R4 trans. Under warranty. My brother used the truck in 1991 to move to Connecticut and brought it back in 1992 in pieces. Changed rear end with 4:10 gears but front was still 3:08. Front hubs blown out and trany was blown. He put 4″ body lift and a set of headers that didn’t fit .
I bought it from my Dad in 1993 with 63,000 miles for $1000. Swapped to a turbo 350, and changed rear end. Had it on the road in 1994 and that is the last time it was registered, it now has 67’000 miles all original metal . Original paint was gone and was starting to surface rust so I through on a coat of spray paint to slow down the rust. I lost my Dad in 2007 and I would never sell this truck. Just a custom deluxe with a 350TBI 4×4 and a cassette radio plain jane by todays standards but priceless to me.[lmc_story_gallery]
