1967 Chevy C10 – Larry McC.
Old Red
This 1967 C-10 started its journey in Waco, TX in 1967 as my Dad’s daily driver and fishing truck. In 1969 – 1971, I sometimes drove it to high school. It lived in Waco until the mid 80’s and moved to Warsaw, Missouri upon my Dad’s retirement. My family and I lived on the north side of Houston. Following my Dad’s death in the mid 1990’s, my Mom called me to come pick up the truck as it had been sitting for a few months and she only drove her Impala. I caught a ride to Warsaw with my sister, changed the battery and a fan belt and drove the old truck overnight back to Houston.
For the next 10 years it was my hunting and fishing truck in the piney woods of east Texas. In 2003, the truck moved back to Waco Tx with me, my wife and 4 sons due to my change of jobs. In 2015, I did a minor restoration on the truck and updated the brakes, truck bed, interior, rebuilt the 283 V-8, and painted it Victory Red. The idea being I would give it to my youngest son who had just graduated from Texas A&M.
“Old Red” now lives in Galveston, Tx with my son Sam. Great truck, good member of the family.
