1969 Chevy C10 – Todd A.
I was talking to a guy I work with one day when he mentioned he and his brother had an old truck. So I asked if I could check it out and that evening my boys and I stopped by to look at a beautiful patina ’69 c10 long bed. Having never built a patina truck, I thought this was the perfect truck. I negotiated a price with his brother that evening and the following day my boys went and loaded it up.
It didn’t sit long before, with the help of my boys, it was torn apart. My youngest son took the bedsides and sliced them down while my oldest son chopped the floor down.
I then chopped the frame down, cleaned, painted and replaced everything from the axles to the steering gear box. For the power plant, we gave it a rebuilt Chevy 350 and a 700r4.
The engine bay was completely painted and the firewall smoothed.
Moving to the interior, the little rust in the floor was cut out and replaced before the inside got a fresh coat of paint, new upholstry, old air conditioning, Dakota digitals, new rubber, and all new glass.
8 months later, we’re off to Good Guys at Westworld in Scottsdale AZ for its first adventure.
