Hello all you Ford warriors.  My dad was a Ford man as well.  He was very blessed with a mechanical brain and was self taught from living and working at B&B Auto Parts and Service in Memphis, TN.  He could take an engine apart and put it back together blind folded.  He taught me a lot.

My first car at 18 yr old in 1983 was a ’73 Mercury Capri.  That car was a blast.  It had a v6 German Bausch motor with a c3 auto tyranny.  It was a screamer.  It registered 160 on the guage. At 18, I had a great construction job as a carpenter helper.  I drove dad nuts with this car.  He kept saying I drove too fast.  Well let’s say I kept up lol.  I gave $500 dollars for this car drove it 9 years and sold it for $550.

Low and behold I went to the bank and borrowed 3000 and bought my first Ford pickup.  It was a 1983 F100 short box, dual tanks, 5.0 carberated electric fuel injected.  It was a nice truck.  This was in 1992 and I drove it 5 years.  I sold it to buy a family car.  I was married in ’95.  She had a child already and she was a widow bride and we we’re pregnant.  I had just put a new engine in my truck that past year but it’s hard to get 2 car seats in it, and me and momma too.  So I traded it for a Ford Taurus 4 door car .

Today I drive a 1995 F150 super cab 2wd dual tanks 5.0 efi that I purchased in 2007.  It had 89,000 miles on it and 2 years later put a crate 5.0 or 302 boss in her.  She had 101,000 on her when I had this done.  I’ve been driving her for 15 years so far.  She’s 27 years old now.  My son and I here recently changed everything out in front of the motor: water pump, radiator, damper, clutch fan, egr system, all sensors,.  We used what my dad passed to me.  Now, I’ve passed it on to my son.  He’s restoring a 1981 F100 Ranger Explorer pickup.  It has the inline 6 300 in her.  It sat for ten years, not started.  First day my son got her towed to the house, he had her started.  So yeah Fords in his blood too.  For God and country I’ll make my stand for Fords and dreamers alike.
