In Memory of My Brother

When my brother and I were young, we both worked after school and summers for the family business.  This 1953 Chevy 3100 is one of the vehicles that the company had that we both used to drive often.  After years of neglect, my brother was able to get it.  He put it in his garage, hoping to restore it one day.  Well that day never came for him as he got sick before he could do much to it.  That is when I got it and began the restoration.  My brother passed away when I was about half done with the restoration, so this is a tribute to my brother Dennis.

I wanted to keep it stock, as I remember it when I was young.  It has the 216 cubic inch engine and 3 speed on the column.  I even kept the original 6 volt electrical system.  And I had the original company logo painted on the doors.  Everything including the color is original.  It’s a trip down memory lane for me.

I was able to do 99% of the work myself, having only to take the front axle to a machine shop to press the king pins out, having a glass shop set the vent window glass in the frames, and having the signs painted on the doors.

LMC Truck has great parts, and many of them were used in this restoration.  Thank you, LMC.
