Found My Dad’s Truck

My Dad bought this truck when I was very young.  The truck is a 1973 K10.  I have many happy childhood memories off-roading with my Dad and Brother in this truck.  It became mine when I was in my early 20’s.  I promptly changed the front clip to a later model K10, lifted it and repainted it.  I then spent most of my weekends off-roading with my son.  When my second son was born I sold it to help offset the cost of a Chevy Suburban and regretted it ever since.  That was 26 years ago.

I recently asked my oldest son to help me look for the truck so we could try to reacquire it.  Unbeknownst to me my wife and kids had been searching for it for several months already and had found it.  He didn’t mention that and simply replied “okay Dad”.  They purchased the truck and surprised me for my birthday.  It had been parked for almost a decade.

I am doing a frame off restore replacing everything with the help of LMC Truck and plan on taking my Dad (the original owner) for a desert cruise.  I hope to share progress photos along the way.

PS. The Warn worm gear winch is gone. Anyone out there have one laying around?
