Daddy’s Truck

Growing up, my dad ALWAYS had beat up old chevys that were never much to look at but I loved them all.  Of all my siblings, I’ve always been closest to my dad and shared his hobbies especially when it came to working on his trucks.  He got this one when I was about 8 or 9 years old and we always said we’d fix her up real nice.  It’s pulled our horses, moved our stuff from state to state, served me well to drive in high school (when we painted it like a watermelon), and been on the farm ever since.  We worked on it off and on.  I always said if something ever happened to him I wanted his truck and his ring.  The one thing that we ALWAYS did together.  He passed in October of 2021 when I was 5 months pregnant.  I went through hell but I was finally able to get ole red delivered from NC to Nebraska this past April 2022.  She runs, but she’s in rough shape.  So my goal is to slowly but surely get her mechanically sound and then fix her up the way we always planned.  Not exactly the way I wanted things to pan out but I want to get his truck done the way he and I wanted it when I was little.  I’ve put a lot of blood, sweat, tears and cuss words in so far, what’s a little more!
