1972 Chevy C10 – Phillip A.
Stays in the Family
My truck is a 1972 Chevy C-10. My grandfather purchased the truck brand new. Basically everything is all original up until the last few years. When I got back from deployment at the end of 2020 I told my grandfather I had to completely replace the entire wiring system in it, due to years of adding and taking away of various items i.e. CB radio stand alone back-up camera things of that nature. So since I decided to do that I also decided to upgrade all the lights to L.E.D replace all the trim and badges, as well as the carpet. At this point the truck wasn’t officially mine yet. I finished all of the tasks I had wanted to accomplish prior to my grandfathers birthday last August. Sadly he wasn’t able to drive or ride in it anymore after I had returned it to him and he ended up passing away in December of 2021. The stipulation of me getting the truck was that it will stay in our family for as long as possible and I plan to pass the truck down to my son just like my grandfather did to me. I have recently started on a new journey with the truck. I have upgraded the truck to disc brakes all the way around with drilled and slotted rotors in the front with wilwood brake calipers. Updated all the suspension components tubular uppers and lowers sway bar kit and soon I will be installing air ride suspension on the truck. I am also in the process of converting the bed of the truck to wood and relocating the tank to the rear.
