In 1995, I had an ’86 Chevy Silverado stolen.  My Dad and I had just finished restoring it.  The paint was literally 4 days old.  It was heart wrenching.  For a long time, I was hesitant to purchase another Square Body because I was afraid it would be stolen again.  Then life happened, my son was born, I moved a couple of times, and I found myself in a position in life I wanted another Square.  I began looking at trucks, I looked at well over 50.  I was on break one day at work and decided to do a little searching and I came across a nice Silverado.  It had a lot of things I wanted (big block, lift, solid body, 4 speed) so I decided to call the guy.  I found out he was selling due to some financial needs and he literally only lived 30 minutes from my house.  So, my wife and I decided to go check it out.  On the way, my wife asked the gentleman’s name, and when I told her she had a strange look on her face.  Turned out she works with him in a manufacturing facility.  Small world.  So once I looked at the truck, I had to have it.  Needless to say, I’ve done a lot of improvements since I bought it with the help of LMC Truck, and a number of things I still want to do, but I am supper happy with my truck.  I’m glad to be back in a Square Body and love the immediate conversations that come up with complete strangers every time I drive it.  I’ve included some recent pics of the old girl, still a few things to go, but she’s coming along.
