We have a 1966 Chevrolet C10 Stepside. Originally was sold in Oklahoma from Maple
O’Neal Chevrolet Co. My wife and I were on vacation in Northwest Wisconsin when we saw the truck for sale at Edgar Wisconsin. On the way back from vacation we stopped and checked it out. Called the owner and made a deal. That was back in August of 2008. Since then we did a complete off frame restoration. Every nut and bolt was removed and restored or replaced. We kept the truck 95% original. The inside of the cab is painted the original color from the factory. We added carpeting from LMC Also all the suspension was rebuilt polyethylene bushings from LMC 90% of the replacement parts were from LMC, new chrome grill and front and rear bumper. I rebuilt the 350 Chevy engine that was in the truck also the four speed. I made up all the brake and fuel lines also new wiring. The truck bed I did out of recycled Church pews with new stainless bed strips from LMC. I put in a new fuel tank under the truck bed.
The upholstery was from a upholstery shop in our area and they had the original upholstery material. My wife and I took the truck on the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2015 from Madison Wisconsin to Baton Rouge LA that was the maiden run. The ran perfect with no issues. We drive this truck all the time and go to a lot of car shows. It has three best of show trophies and a lot of first place trophies.
I hope that this will be an interesting article.
FYI this was built in my garage.
