I purchased this truck from a public auction back in 2021 with intensions of using it as a parts truck. The truck was a 2WD and powered by Fords Big Block 460 with a ZF5 manual transmission. After getting the truck home and it sitting behind my house for almost 8 months, my 5-year-old son asked me if he could have it and if I could help him fix it up and make it his monster truck. So, we pulled it in the barn and removed cab and bed and started at the frame, sanding, then, powder coating it. We removed the front 2WD suspension and the original rear axle and converted the truck to 4WD with 2015 Ford Super Duty front and rear axle swap. We prepared cab and bed for paint and tracked down some used dually fenders that weren’t busted like the ones on the truck. We painted it Ford Race Red to match my 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty and my son told me it had to be a diesel, so his would be like daddy’s. So, we removed the 460 Big Block and ZF5 transmission and installed a 12V Cummins with a 4wd ZF5 and transfer case. The build took a total of about 7 months and a lot of sweat, blood, and tears but we never gave up and the truck looks awesome!!
