1953 GMC 3600 – Randy S.

My truck was built in California and sold to a resident of nearby Fontana sometime in 1953. Before the new owner took possession of the truck, he was drafted into the US Army to serve in the Korean War. He made an agreement with the dealer to hold the truck until he returned from the war and if he didn’t survive, the deposit was to be refunded to his family.
He did in fact return and took delivery of the truck on July 11, 1955. Total cost was $1,032.00!
Many years later, he relocated to Florida where he continued to enjoy the truck and eventually sold it to its second owner in 2021. The second owner was a young family man and kept the truck for a little over 2 years all the while keeping it well maintained and eventually sold it to the 3rd owner in July 2023.
The truck has been repainted only once around 1999 and garage kept almost the entire time of its life.
