It all started way back in 1992 when I walked in our local Chevrolet dealership here in Hollywood, Florida. There she was in all her glory, a 1991 Chevrolet Suburban in Bohemian blue and Quicksilver metallic. Mind you, I was only 17 and completely fell in love with this truck and said I want it. My whole family said the obvious question: what are you going to do with a Suburban and you’re just one person? I didn’t care, I just had to have it. I went back a few days later and it was gone, just sold earlier that day. I was crushed. Being it was a 1991 in the year of ’92, it was a leftover and there was no more of that body style around, so I left and never forgot about that particular Suburban since then. I’ve probably had every body style Suburban and never forgot that one and I’ve never really seen another one in that color combination. Fast forward to 30 some odd years, me and my son were at the red light on Hollywood boulevard and what do you know, it was a 1991 Chevy Suburban in Bohemian blue and Quicksilver metallic, they were turning westbound so the hunt was on. I waited for my light to go green and took off. I flagged the gentleman and his wife now and just said I’m buying that Suburban, and they looked at me and just said okay. She pulled off at a gas station and I began to talk with him, he purchased it brand new in Hollywood, FL. We did a little more research and found out it was the actual truck that I saw brand new. He was going back home up north and didn’t want to take it back with him. The truck was still in very nice condition, so the following week, I purchased it. The truck was living in Philadelphia for a few seasons and didn’t realize it. When I took it to do some service work, the entire frame of the truck was pretty rusted out. Before you know it, I did a complete frame off restoration and if it wasn’t for LMC to put everything back together, it would have never happened. So, 30 years later, I ended up with the truck that I first saw brand new. All of my children grew up in this truck and now my grandchildren are riding in it. Thank you LMC for keeping her on the road.
