2005 Chevy 1500 – Sean B.
December 4th 2019, I bought this truck (my first truck) after being told all my life I couldn’t do anything since I’m autistic. But I got tired of living where I was at, and I knew I was destined for so much more. So, that day in December I coincidently bought my first vehicle I ever owned. A 2005 Chevy Silverado. Coincidently, it’s also really well documented. I bought it on December 4th, 2019 and picked it up on December 7th from Copart Auto Auctions in Mebane, NC. I drove it home that way and thus began a long affair of learning just how hard it is to find parts for a Cat-Eye Chevy. But it’s been a good truck nonetheless and has since had over 40,000 miles put on it with multiple trips from NC to WV and back with still another trip needing done soon.
The name “Silver” came from the background how Silver the horse came to meet the Lone Ranger. Or at least the rumored story how they met when Silver was about to meet its doom before the Ranger stepped in and saved it. Whereas I came across this truck in the same fashion since it was on its way to meet its demise until I stepped in to save it. It has since re-payed me multiple times and continues to do so day by day.
I have had multiple people offer to buy it from me but I refuse every one of them, for you can’t replace this truck. Not only the feelings of the “First Vehicle” but also the fact that you go try and find a regular cab, long bed base V8 older GM truck that’s as rust free as my truck is.
The latest would be having new tires installed at the dealership, since all I wanted was to have a GM dealership service work performed in someway, shape or form… So “Silver” just got new tires put on not that long ago, and when the lady behind the counter went out to get the VIN and mileage read, she couldn’t believe what she saw with it having over 320k miles and counting at the time it was at the dealership. Her jaw dropped and she asked about the gauge cluster and all, she really liked what I did to it.
Currently, it is my daily that I take care of, I am not afraid to load it down with Hay or whatever I need to truck around, I am a Chevy Truck legends member.
