An old coworker of mine randomly messaged me in the winter of 2022 asking if I would like to take his ’90 Suburban off his hands, since he had just purchased a new Jeep Gladiator. His wife told him that if another car showed up, an existing one must go. This particular Suburban has been a property ornament for the last 8 years up here in the Pacific Northwest. My buddy told me that we might just get lucky enough to toss a battery in it, and fire it up. I couldn’t have been more excited! He told me how it had completed the Moab trail in Utah, been to the sand dunes, mudding, you name it. He and his long-time friend had many memories with this Suburban, and I plan to make more! As a kid, my next door neighbor had a late 80’s square body Blazer, on 33’s and it was silver and black, with the Vermillion 3 band pin stripe, Flowmaster exhaust, tinted windows, quite the awesome Blazer. So, you can imagine that I was excited at what this could become. I planned a day, brought tons of tools/parts/supplies that I might have needed. Only thing needed was a battery… she fired up and idled right down once it got up to temperature. I was in love. Thank you LMC for having almost every part that I need (so far). This thing cleaned up pretty damn good for a quick pressure wash job. Inside was a mess, headliner was molded and sagged, seals bad, blender door broke, mice motels, condensation and moisture rusted/corroded all hardware/chrome/metal. Slowly but surely, she is coming back around. 3 months in and I have a kid seat installed for my 5-year-old daughter that is in love with this rig too. Turning into more of a daily that I thought. I am head over heels for this rig and it should keep me very busy this summer. Thank you LMC!!
