1991 GMC K1500 – Joe M.

I was 16 when I bought this truck for $2,000. I couldn’t wait to fix it up and drive through town. My grandfather “Pop”, as we called him, was with me every step of the way and we often spent countless hours talking after we were done fixing something on the truck. Although he was diagnosed with ALS shortly before this truck was bought, he never let that stop him from getting his hands dirty and it quickly became a restoration project between us. We worked on this truck for about 2 1/2 years before he sadly passed and took me another 2 to make this truck completely finished. I sadly don’t have any pictures with him, but my dog, Miss Maggie May supervised the last 2 years of this project and she had no problem taking a final picture of this truck with me.
