1997 Chevy Silverado – Wesley T.

My best friend’s dad owned it and bought it new, right after my friend Chris was in a car accident and paralyzed waist down. So fast forward after many years of him and his dad going everywhere in it and me at times, in 2016 he gets Cancer, and died in 2017! A few weeks before, he had a really good day and wanted to go for a last drive with Chris, he knew it was not long! But he ran off in the ditch and bent the RH frame horn, so the truck was just sitting. Chris called me one day and said “Do you want the truck? I want you to have it, but you can never get rid of it.” I agreed, see, he knew I would fix it up because I’ve restored cars all my life. Two months later, his mother died after cosmetic surgery due to malpractice. It was devastating for Chris. We discussed paint and other things that he wanted. Right now, it’s in process of just getting running again and getting frame straight, then transmission built. Funds are tight, but I want to make it a tribute to Chris and his dad.
