In the early 1980’s, my dad bought and fixed up his 70’s model “round eye” long bed truck (1977 I believe it was). He sold it when I was very young, but like most, I grew up always liking classic trucks, even more than the cars. Over the years, I bought and sold some others, not fully at the time, being able to find a decent square body truck with good bones. Until 2020. I started looking pretty heavily again and was able to find this short bed 1983 through a friend at work. Starting with the interior, my young sons and I worked on it, and brought new life to it again. With all the modern technology in vehicles these days, I wanted to use this truck also to teach them the basic mechanics and experience the somewhat ruggedness of the traditional American Steel built trucks. It has been a really fun time sharing and making these memories, and who knows, maybe one day, one of them would like to drive it and turn it into their first truck!
