My 1950 F-1 project began only as a vision. What had been estimated to be a 1 – 2 year project, extended to 20 years. Along the way, I realized that it was as much or more about the journey than the destination. The engine is a Chevy RamJet 350 combined with a 4L60E transmission and a Ford 9″ rear equipped with disc brakes. The front suspension is from a Dodge Dakota that provided IFS, power rack and pinion steering and disc brakes. The rear suspension is a parallel 4 bar. Creature comforts include Vintage Air A/C and a Pioneer sound system. The end result drives and handles as though it were new, without sacrificing the classic street rod appearance. It is an owner-completed vehicle that could not have been accomplished without ongoing shipments from LMC.
