This big window, custom cab truck was inherited from my father in 2000. It was built at the South Gate California GM assembly plant where I learned to drive on Sundays when the plant was closed. Since past downed, the entire drivetrain, front suspension, brakes and interior have been replaced. The rear suspension has been modified. It now has a 348 Chevy, dual quad, 400hp V8 with Offenhauser intake manifold, Edelbrock AV2 500 cfm carbs, Iskendarian cam and roller rockers. It’s coupled to an Art Carr modified 200R4 four speed automatic overdrive transmission and new, 10 bolt 3.42 posi-traction rearend. A Heidts Mustang II front suspension with power rack and pinion steering and sway bar was installed as well as hydro-boost four wheel Wilwood disc brakes. The interior sports an Ididit tilt chrome steering column with Coors beer tap handle shift knob, Con2R custom two-toned steering wheel and Moon Eyes tach. It also has air conditioning and Grand Prix bucket seats with custom center console. BF Goodrich T/A radials on body color Rallye wheels with 56 Chevy hubcaps and beauty rings hit the ground. Although the paint is over 30 years old, it looks brand new. This is a 60’s RestoMod beauty that my mom named ‘Nelle Bell’. Thanks to LMC Truck for helping along the way.
