In 2015, I decided I wanted to find a 2nd gen C10 to build and customize, as there are so many restoration parts available for this particular truck model (thank you very much LMC!). I found a good deal on a West Coast long bed farm truck in northern CA within a few hours drive from my home in southern OR. I got the truck home and cleaned it up a bit and got it more drivable. I eventually added disc brakes on all 4 wheels, and cleaned up the interior to make the drives more comfortable. I also moved the gas tank out of the cab and put it between the chassis rails (LMC tank) and shortened the chassis and put a short bed on it. Fast forward, this truck went through engine, transmission, custom driveshaft, aftermarket A/C installs, further updates to the engine and interior, and capped off with custom built intro billet wheels, and body and paint work. I had a significant life-threatening medical event in late 2022, which had me dealing with a tough recovery in early 2023. The truck still needed body and paint and A/C system install work at that time, and I set a goal in early 2023 to have the truck painted and put back together in time to drive it 300 miles and put it in the annual C10 Intervention show in Woodland, CA on Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2023). Having the goal and date of the show helped me focus on the truck project, and was a huge part of my healing and recovery process! This truck and the multi-year restoration process has been a significant part of my life and medical event healing process.
