My parents bought this truck new in February of 1992, it was wrecked in April of 1992 and was fixed. 20 years later, in February of 2012, my parents gave me the truck. I slowly started restoring the truck at my parents house, and in the summer of 2012, my dad had a stroke. This gave me every opportunity to see my dad everyday day. I got the truck finished in late 2012, dad was able to help me move and carry some parts as the truck was painted outside. Somehow, he got his thumb in the gas door and when he helped me move the tailgate, and he got a red thumb print in the top of the tailgate in the white.
Unfortunately, I lost my dad on April 1st 2013. The truck’s name became Paps. Other than replacing the 4.3 with a carbed and came 5.3 and the tires and wheels, the truck has been untouched since dad passed. One day, I’ll pass Paps down to my daughter.
