This 1997 K1500 and I go back to 2010, I have owned this truck for 14 years now with it being my first vehicle and my daily driver for over 10 years. My dad found it on Craigslist for a great deal for $2,000 with 166k miles, but had a caved in the driver’s bedside and clear coat flaking here and there from the Florida sunshine. Driving the truck throughout High School, my grandfather really taught me how to maintain a vehicle and get it looking right. He was a huge GM guy with multiple Chevelles, Trans Ams, C10’s and GTO’s. This is where I became very close to my grandfather and loved spending time with him talking about my truck and projects we can work on in the future. Throughout this, not only did our relationship grow, but the obsession with my truck also grew exponentially. One day, my grandfather showed me an LMC Truck magazine for the ’88-’98 GMT400s and I was blown away at all the customization options and aftermarket parts there were. This began the long and continuous journey to how the truck looks today. The truck has been painted multiple times over the past 14 years along with multiple suspension lifts, a new crate 350 motor, an array of wheels/tires, and the interior completely customized. Almost everything has been replaced with a lot of parts coming from LMC, specifically the front billet, fog light, bumper billet, steering wheel, and rear roll pan.

Throughout this journey, I picked up my future wife on our first date in High School and married her 10 years later driving home from the wedding in the same truck that started it all. Unfortunately, I lost my hero, my grandfather, in 2017. Since then, I have used the knowledge and influence he has given me to continue building and customizing the truck to where he wouldn’t even recognize it today. I would like to personally thank LMC for the quality products they provide along with their great customer service, making the build much easier.
