I purchased my ’63 C-10 short bed big back window in Longview, Texas, in July 2021. The owner said it was a Texas/Oklahoma truck all its life. It had no engine or transmission and a few other parts were missing. Thanks to LMC, I found most of the parts I needed.
This was a body-off restoration in my home shop. I silica blasted to bare metal every square inch of the body and frame. After a great deal of repair or replace, I got the body in tip-top shape and epoxy-primed it entirely. I finished the paint with base coat/clear coat.
The exterior is pretty well stock except for later model truck rally wheels. I added power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, vintage air conditioning, and a Dakota Digital instrument cluster. The engine is a stock ’02 Chevrolet 6.0 liter with a 4L80 transmission to a 12-bolt 373 differential. The glass is all new; and the seats and console were taken from a late model Suburban.
My life-long hobby has been restoring cars of the 50’s and 60’s. I am 80 now. I did all of the work in my home shop, with the help of LMC, of course!
P.S. More photos available. Could I get a couple copies of the catalog issue if you decide to publish my story? Thanks.
