Ever since I can remember, I have always loved cars and trucks. My dad always had cool cars around, and some of my best memories are in the shop. My entire life, my dad has always had a square body and ever since I can remember, I would ride around in it with him. Needless to say, I have a strong attachment to square bodies, and when I was 11 or 12, I knew I wanted a square body. A ’73 or ’74 step side was my dream. Finally, after searching long enough, at the age of 14, I found my dream! It was so rough it was a 2 for 1 deal, but it was a 1973 C10 step side. I knew the holes and rust and work ahead would be extensive, but at 14, I didn’t have an arm and a leg to spend on a finished truck. So with guidance from my dad, I got to work. After cutting, welding, rust repair, body work, busted knuckles, and new parts thanks to LMC Truck, I was able to get my dream truck built and on the road.
Basically everything on the truck is new or rebuilt except the bed floor and transmission. It still has an old Saginaw 3 speed, but of course, I have plans for that as well. I bought the truck just over three years ago, and it still isn’t done yet. They never are! But I can’t thank my dad enough for all the help, knowledge, and encouragement along the way and LMC for all the great new parts to help make my dream come true!
