So, my dad bought this pickup brand new back in 1974. His older brother had bought a ’73 the year before. They both ended up with single cab F250’s that were both black. They were identical except my dad’s was an automatic and my uncle’s was a standard and they were a year apart. I remember always taking this pickup to go get firewood in the mountains and using it when we went hunting. Over the years, it had always sat outside. A couple of years ago, I had talked to my dad about restoring it. Finally, in March of 2023 I decided it was go time. I pulled it in on the 1st of April and started pulling it apart. It had lots of dings and dents and was going to be quite the job. Just 12 days later, my dad died after suffering from a fast growing brain tumor and having to be in dialysis. Luckily, I’ve had my uncle around to ask him questions on how these old pickups worked and what he and my dad used to do with them. Well, it’s been a year and after plenty of $, it’s just about done. I’m thankful for LMC Truck because without them, this project would be difficult.
