My truck story started in 2002 when I was 17 just learning to drive and had just got my driver’s licenses. My dad said if I passed my driver’s test, he would get me a truck that was a 1985 Ford F250, it had been used on a farm, no exhaust, but ran good and was faded out red with factory black steel wheels and center caps caned rough around the edges. I drove it all through High School learning a lot about the truck over time fixing small things on it, doing the brakes and general maintenance on it. Then, towards the end of High School, my best friend’s dad helped me repaint the truck. Then, I started taking the truck to shows and local cruise in’s. I learned about LMC Truck and started slowly replacing parts and adding custom parts like clear tail lights for ’80-’86 Ford trucks which are still in to this day. Then, I added the chrome C6 transmission, the chrome inline 6 valve cover, and the clear turn signal. Then, sometime in late 2017 or 2018, the truck was parked due to mechanical issues and I slowly started replacing stuff with no luck. Then, in late 2019 and early 2020, I started replacing the fuel line using LMC Truck 3/8 fuel line notched line clamps, and I also replaced the filler neck hose too from LMC and slowly got the truck back on the road and driving it local. Then, I had to replace a few more parts to get the truck back to the way it was before breaking down and parking it. I decided to repaint the truck satin black and add more custom parts. I added LMC Truck LED back up light bar bolted on top of the license plate, and I also have the black Ford cooler. I’ve just added the bullnose floor mat and have the bed mount spare tire carrier. I still have a long list of stuff I want to do to the truck like redo the interior, replace front fenders, paint and detail, the engine bay, replace the factory gauges with new vintage USA gauges, put the retro sound radio in the dash too along with the headliner with built-in speakers, and the list goes on and on. It’s a driving restoration project. Hard to believe I’m almost 36, well, I will be in July and still driving my first vehicle to this day.
