1959 Ford F100 – Giovanni O.

I’ve always been passionate for old cars and the very true feeling of driving them, with the magic sound of a V8 engine under the hood … w/o any electronic inside…
During the pandemic of COVID 19, we didn’t have anything to do with my kids with whom we have this strange necessity to build something… At that point, we started looking for a project which could be reachable and affordable… After two months, our 1959 F-100 appears as a hen house literally on a field with other old cars, from a collector… After some visits, he decided to sell it and then we started…
First, working on our 302 engine which by the way, was a piece of trash at that time, I paid someone to teach us how to work on it during weekends, it was a great, rewarding and refreshing experience together with my boys. The truck has a lot of modifications as we say, a Frankenstein… Since the engine is a 302W 1980, drive train comes from a 1993 F150, aluminum gas tank has been moved to the tail, 5Speed transmission from a 1995 F150, and front disk breaks from a 1993 F150… After 3+ years, we are almost done with some pending issues, but still enjoying the process and at the end will come the big question, what will I do with this truck? Just driving it eventually or taking it only to exhibitions.
