1971 Chevy C10 – Caleb D.
I always looked up to my father, we went through many hard times with him. My mom would say I was his tail because I was always just a few steps behind him. I followed him around everywhere. We had gone though financial issues and housing issues and he would look at me and ask “we’re still a team, right?” I would say “we are The Team!”. My dad scrapped some money up to buy this truck. It was a project that we would finish before graduation of High School. We worked on it slowly, but never finished it due to money issues. After graduation, I joined the military and left the project at my father’s house. A few years passed and my father came to see me when I was stationed in Alaska. My father saw the whole country side riding his motorcycle to see me. I talked to him hours before his arrival late at night. But when the morning came, I got the call, but it wasn’t from him. He made it about 4500 miles, and was just under 40 minutes away from me, when he struck a moose on his motorcycle. He didn’t make it. After this incident, I felt lost and disconnected from everything and everyone. Until several years later, my sister’s boyfriend brought up the idea to get this project going again. Ever since then, I’ve felt connected with my father. There’s a lot of work to accomplish but with some time, money, parts from LMC, and a lot of elbow grease, I can make this project truck into “The Teams” dream!
