With the help of my dad, I bought my truck when I was a junior in High School at the age of 17. It was an 11-year-old truck with 107,000 miles on it. Due to my limited budget, I serviced it myself, when possible, sometimes through trial and error. By the time I could afford a newer vehicle, I chose to hang on to it since I was familiar with the maintenance and repairs to it. Through the years, I’ve upgraded some of the components. To name few, I went from a 360ci 2 barrel to a 390ci 4 barrel, installed a shift kit in the C6 transmission, a limited slip differential, power steering, interval wipers, electronic ignition, alarm, stereo and a homemade flame thrower kit. I’m 62 now and still enjoy getting thumbs up and comments from other drivers. 45 years of good memories in that truck!
