What started out as a bunch of friends restoring cars and trucks in various front yards and driveways in Los Angeles, has turned into a bespoke automotive restoration business now located in Austin, TX. Cole Ziegler, Andy Ellis, Jesse Metcalfe and Ian Ford all met in LA essentially through each other. Cole and Ian were restoring a CJ-7 Jeep that arrived as just a tub, a chassis and the rest was in boxes, they need a bit of help to get the project done so Andy Ellis jumped in to help. The CJ-7 ended up selling for a record price so it was time to move onto the next project and Jesse Metcalfe was looking to potentially pitch an automotive centered TV show. Cole and Andy moved to Austin, TX, set up the shop and Ian and Jesse helped finance the business. Thus, Remuda Motoring was founded. Pronounced “Re-mew-da” it is Spanish slang for a heard of horses that have been saddle-broken from which ranch hands choose their mounts for the day. The way we look at it, the cars we build are going to be our customer’s extra horses.

Our 1970 Ford Bronco Sport 4×4 has undergone a meticulous restoration and comprehensive modernization. Bronco Build #001 has been reborn with an all-new steel body and hardtop sitting atop its original, yet fully restored numbers-matching chassis.

The team at Remuda embarked on this build with a vision to honor the timeless styling of this early Bronco while blending modern and functional improvements over factory. Finished in two-stage Wimbledon White paint, this Bronco is complimented by a custom Cerakote finish on all brightwork and trim. Inspired by other similar-era Ford vehicles, special touches such as late 60’s Mustang mirrors and side markers have been carefully blended into the aesthetic of this classic Bronco.

Open the door to this iconic 4×4 and you’ll be greeted with the convenience of automatically deploying side steps that tuck away neatly when not in use. Bespoke, saddle-tan upholstery is secured by a four-point roll cage with shoulder seat belts for added safety. The reimagined dashboard features a central digital speedometer with retro-styling, simplified switch layout, and custom vents for air-conditioning and heat. Hidden from view are six speakers powered by a hidden amplifier and bluetooth audio system.

Under the hood, a remanufactured Ford 351 Windsor V8 is fitted with multi-port fuel injection, electronic ignition, and serpentine belt system. Long-tube headers breathe into a custom, dual stainless steel exhaust with X-pipe and classic downturn tips. Unique to this Bronco is the specification of a five-speed manual transmission providing for an engaging, analog driving experience not often found today. Remanufactured axles feature four wheel, hydroboost disc brakes that are more than capable of stopping the BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires.

Remuda Bronco #001 is not only a prime example of a “nut and bolt” restoration, but our interpretation of the perfect combination of old school cool and modern comfort.
