I was out on a motorcycle ride to the mountains and passed by this big old orange truck at a classic dealer lot and said yup that’s the one. So on my way down from the mountains, I stopped in and asked about the truck. I thought about it for a few days and decided to purchase the truck and drove it 30 miles home. I’ve been restoring this truck for about 2 years now and drive it just about every day. My grandfather had a 1976 Bicentennial F-150 growing up, and most people in the town I am from still drive around in these trucks. I always wanted one of my own. It was amazing that we got the truck started at the dealer, I don’t think it had ran in at least 20 years and it was sitting under a pine tree from what I can tell. It’s been particularly hard saving this old girl as just about every single part on the truck was not longed for this world. I have since replaced almost every electrical component and half the wiring, at some point the 460 motor blew up and I had it replaced with another one. I’ve replaced most of the components around the engine as well, new brakes, drums, rotors, lines, bearings. I still have a long ways to go, but I think I’ve saved her enough to keep her from going to the crusher.
