1962 Chevy C10 – Nathan H.
Around 2011, I had helped my step dad and his brother-in-law pull this 1962 Chevy C10 from a field in Northwest, Arkansas. Between then and 2021, it had traded hands between my Step Father and his brother-in-law, when my step father bought it and a 1978 K20 at the same time as a package deal, and that’s when I started bothering him to buy it off of him. After my mom passed away in 2020, my step father just gave the truck to me and I hauled the truck from where it had sat for the past 10 years in May of 2021. Once I got it home, I went straight to work tearing into it to try to get the 235 inline 6 to run, and found out it was already bored .040 over and needed rebuilt. The odometer for the truck shows just over 31k miles, I’m not sure exactly how many miles it actually has, but the 235 wasn’t original to the truck and dated to a 1957 car, the windshield still had an Arkansas inspection sticker dated to 1982, long before Arkansas stopped doing inspections. I finally decided to do a motor swap and have been going back in forth since then, including a frame swap, but finally hope to have it back on the road and put to work early 2025, eventually repainting the truck in Omaha Orange with Cameo White two tone.
