1970 Chevy C10 – Tony H.

A friend asked to borrow a couple tires for a truck that he bought from his cousin that used to be his dad’s truck… When he explained it was a short bed 1970 C10 well then he had my full attention. I asked if he minded if I followed him and I would help him put it on a trailer. When we arrived, I was instantly in love. She was rough as they come. The bed was upside down on the ground. Driver’s door was cracked open and I learned it had been just this way for almost 18 years… I was glad my friend was going to fix it so we loaded the truck and I went back home. Next morning, my friend pulls up and tells me he had a lot on his plate with his mom passing recently and told me to make an offer… She was rough, but she had a title, the truck had 49,000 miles and motor was a long block that was taken out of a square body that they bought from hi/lo auto parts 18 years ago. Long story short, I offered $1,200 and he said deal. That’s when she and I got real close… I can’t even sleep knowing this old rusty beauty is in my yard. I literally can’t wait to get off work to work on her. She’s got a long way to go, but I’m gonna be right there with her when she takes her first drive. Proud to be her guy…
