I got this truck in 2002 as a gift from my dad for my 25th birthday. I was in College and I had no money, so replacing my junk daily myself wasn’t an option. It was originally a 5.9 with a 46RE trans. I drove it everyday for the next 18 years. The paint got so bad at one point, my “friends” at work started calling it “Pinky.” I always maintained it mechanically myself, but it soon turned into “I’ve got to go fix my truck so I can get to work tomorrow” so I decided it was time to move on. My dad asked for first right of refusal, so he wound up buying it from me to use as a yard truck. That didn’t last too long. I found a good deal on a V10 locally and Dad was willing to go for it, so I brought the truck back home and started the build. Here’s the specs: Magnum V10, 48RE trans, upgraded front suspension and brakes to 2001 model year so I could run the 4th gen Ram wheels, custom/ restored interior and custom paint. Dad loved the results and drove it (rarely) for 3 years until it just became too much of a burden for him to keep clean. Now it’s mine again. Since I’ve gotten it back, I’ve made a few upgrades, like color matched Raptor liner in the bed, upgraded front shocks, and a new headliner and visors. It’s been in the family now for 22 years and it’s never looked better. Thanks LMC!
