So, here I am telling you a story about my uncle‘s ’55 Chevy. In 2022, my great grandmother died and I met with my great uncle at her funeral. We got to talking and I had mentioned how I wanted to get an old vehicle to restore to fulfill my mechanical habit. He had mentioned to me that I could have his 1955 Chevy 3100. He used to put around town when he was back home from underwater welding. I thought he was joking so I threw it off. Then, Christmas came around that December after our conversation that last October at the funeral. He then mentioned again merry Christmas nephew, your truck’s waiting here. I thought he was joking again. then my birthday would come around that next March and here he would come again saying “happy birthday nephew, are you gonna come get this truck or what?” So I called my uncle up in Kansas and asked are you serious Uncle Jim. To which he said “absolutely you show up with the truck and trailer and it’s all yours.” So me and my grandfather that July got his trailer, went to Kansas, and picked up the old ’55. In the next year, the truck would sit at my house while I came up with a long shopping list about all I wanted to do to it. That next upcoming summer would come around and me and my wife would announce that we’re pregnant in the year of 2024. With this, it hindered how much money I could put in my uncle Jim’s ’55 Chevy. After conversation with an old Vietnam vet neighbor, he said he could help me out. In the next upcoming months before Christmas of ’24 I would get a hold of a GEN iv 454 motor. With also some help from surrounding friends and family, I would also get a hold of a turbo 400, a rear end, and an independent front suspension clip. Now, I leave you with this message of the people around you can support you in love and kindness even when you think your projects are over.
