1965 Ford F100 – Jacob H.
This truck was purchased new by U-Haul as a “Mobile Turning Unit” which had a U-Haul trailer mounted in the bed on a rotating hydraulic cylinder that would light up with neon lights at new dealerships. My uncle purchased this truck in 1992 and drove it a short time before parking it in his barn in western NC. The truck sat in this barn until August of 2024 when I purchased it from a family member. About a month after I trailered the truck home to Florida, the barn where it sat for 30 years flooded during hurricane Helene. I detailed the truck inside and out, rebuilt the carburetor and had it driving in no time. Although it’s no longer in its original U-Haul orange, I am very proud of the condition it is in. I also have the original sales paperwork from 1965 when U-Haul purchased it new from Don Sanderson Ford in Glendale, Arizona.
