1964 Chevy C10 – Joshua C.

My grandfather’s name was William Allen, but all of his grandchildren knew him as Daddy Bill. This truck was originally his “Fishing Truck”, but I only remember years after its prime, with a camper shell packed full of tools.

When I would visit in the summer, he would always have me do something to the truck; just to keep me busy.

I became the owner years after he passed, and I couldn’t wait to bring it back. I did a frame off restoration over the course of about 6 months. I replaced the cab supports, floor pan, inner and outer rockers, cab corners, both front fenders, front bed panel, and bed floor. Both doors received lower skins. The engine was swapped to a SBC with mild cam and the original Powerglide was updated. The truck received all new paint inside and out and new interior.

About 10 years later, I decided the truck needed some upgrades to drive in the summer heat and traffic. The truck was lowered, with all new suspension components and received a disc brake swap and power brakes. The carburetor was ditched for a Pro-Flo 4 setup and air conditioning was installed. New wheels and tires were next to bring it all together.
