1969 Ford F250 – David A.

My truck is a 1969 F250 Ranger, Explorer and Camper Special. I bought this truck from the original owner 1987. He was 80 years old then. He bought it new in 1969 at Jess Hunter Ford in Pueblo, CO. He ordered the Mitchell Camper out of Commerce City, CO and three months later,  they have been together ever since. I was 27 at that time and made a decision that I was never going to get rid of it and I was going to take care of it. That was 38 years ago and I think I’ve done pretty good with that promise. I had polished and waxed it so many times it was down to primer in spots, so I gave it a paint job in my garage about 5 years ago, keeping it’s original color, Diamond Aqua. Everything on this truck is original, down to the Ranger trim, seat upholstery and dash. It still has its original 390. I was a single dad with 2 daughters and this truck was all over the state making family memories. It was no garage queen. With my daughters, now 35 and 42, along with grand kids, a 62 Ranchero , 64 Galaxie and a 66 Bronco, my old Camper Special is still making family memories at car shows around Colorado and Kansas, and occasionally even a good ‘ol fashioned camping trip.
