1972 GMC Suburban – Kevin R.

My wife has told me many stories about her childhood camping trips in her family’s old 1972 Green Suburban. Driving up through the mountain back roads barely wide enough for the rig so when you look out the window you were seeing over the side of a cliff. It started with us talking about finding one for us to camp in.
After some searching, we found a ’72 3/4-ton 4-wheel drive sitting in a field, moss-covered and weathered. Looked like it was left to rot. We checked it out, the build sheet and protect-o-plate were actually still tucked away in the glove box, a bit weathered, but there and nice to have.
We trailered it home, and over the next 12 years, piece by piece and our spin on the green, we put it back together. Now, it’s ready to hit the road again, this time with us ready to create some memories of our own.
