This truck has been in my wife’s family since it was bought new from a Chevrolet dealership in western North Carolina. The truck originally belonged to my wife’s great-grandfather. After he passed in the early 80’s, the truck was handed down to his youngest son which is my wife’s great-uncle. The truck has lived its entire life in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. About three years ago, the truck was gifted to my wife as a birthday present. We call the truck the “Birdie”. She is named after my my wife’s great-grandmother. Birdie is still a work in progress. She was siting for several decades. I have been working on her little by little since the summer of 2024. For a short time, I had her running and driving but she needs major work to the air/fuel delivery system and to the manual transmission shifter and linkage. I hope to have her back on the road later this year!
